Davies Resourcing are delighted to working closely with an expanding and successful Managing General Agent, based in the Midlands.

Great opportunities exist for an experienced Liability Underwriters to join their expanding team. 

Ideal candidates will need to have an excellent working knowledge and understanding of All Risks Liability insurance covers

As a successful and dynamic MGA. they ‘hold the pen‘ of insurer partners, meaning you can underwrite the products / schemes for them, through the online trading platform through a network of 650 broker partners across the UK.

We are able to consider candidates that have a broking background who are serious about progressing into a Underwriting role

You will need to possess a willingness to develop your skills, through cross-skilling and upskilling.

You will have the opportunity to work from home, with a commitment to spending a minimum 2 days per week in the office.

The Role: 

  • You will be a point of contact for broker partners and deliver exceptional customer service as part of the existing business teams ,You will underwrite and produce renewal terms or mid-term adjustments within the underwriting appetite of Insurer partners
  • Be a team player and contribute to the growth and retention strategy targets by negotiating terms and securing renewals, whilst working within your personal licence authority and binder agreements
  • Take ownership of your work, prioritise, meet deadlines, ensure you follow the processes in place whilst constantly looking for opportunities to improve the customer journey
  • Develop your own skills and knowledge as well as embracing the technical and soft skills coaching and training we will provide throughout your career with us

Skills you’ll need: 

  • Good knowledge of underwriting principles and practice
  • Good risk analysis and technical skills
  • A team player but also self-motivated
  • Demonstrate a trading mindset and commercial Insurance exposure, particularly with knowledge of Liability covers
  • Excellent attention to detail, organisation and verbal and written communication
  • Proficient in Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Good judgement, negotiation and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to use your initiative and work well under pressure
