Due to regulatory changes, this is a newly created role for the business and is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Business Resilience Manager to take responsibility for and fully own the design and effective management of operational resilience and disaster recovery framework along with the oversight of external clients’ frameworks to ensure they are effective and compliant.
 
THE ROLE

Working closely with all key stakeholders to minimise the impact on my client operations, their clients and their customers during periods of operational disruption, making sure all frameworks are compliant with UK and international regulations. The framework has been written, the incumbent will join for the implementation phase which has a deadline of March 2025 and then the ongoing management and development, my client envisages the Business Resilience area to broaden out & that the role would evolve into managing a team.
 

  • Implement and manage Operational Resilience framework, working with internal stakeholders and clients to identify Important Business Services, map resources and set impact tolerances.
  • Increase awareness and focus on operational resilience across the business and their clients’ businesses by providing continued education & insights into best practice.
  • Design and manage Business Continuity Planning (BCPs) Framework, working with internal teams and clients to embed, review and update their BCPs and business impact assessments at regular intervals.
  • Maintain crisis management and incident response procedures and execute the requirements of Operational Resilience and BCP in response to specific incidents.
  • Develop and deliver the operational resilience and disaster recovery testing plans internally & with clients externally, working closely with IT to ensure technology risks are addressed.
  • Ensure testing takes place to predefined schedule and remediate gaps identified from internal tests, risk events, near misses and audits.
  • Prepare updates and reports for Boards and Committees including the annual Operational Resilience self-assessment for the Board.
  • Design and manage internal framework for the oversight of critical and important outsourcers, ensuring that regulatory requirements are met.
  • Monitor industry developments and good practice to ensure my clients Outsource Frameworks are up to date and offer guidance to clients on operational resilience, disaster recovery and outsourcing.

 
ABOUT YOU

  • Experience of managing business continuity, incident/crisis management, disaster recovery, would be great if you have experience within the Lloyd’s market but this is not essential, as well as the management of outsourced companies that provide critical or important services.
  • In-depth understanding of operational resilience industry standards and the step-up from traditional business continuity practices
  • Previous experience of presenting to senior management/boards
  • Strong team worker who builds and maintains effective working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, the role is client facing alongside extensive internal stakeholder engagement, to Board level
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, someone who can effectively advise and brief all levels, including C-Suite client stakeholders. Able to persuade others to provide information and meet deadlines when there is no direct management authority
  • Someone who displays initiative and work with autonomy to become the expert within the organisation. Strives to seek out new networks and development opportunities, ensuring knowledge of current practices is up to date.
  • Calm under pressure. Can adapt rapidly to changing priorities, deal with multiple tasks and work effectively in fast paced situations or in periods of crisis management.

 
 
THE PACKAGE

  • The salary will range between £85k-95k
  • The role will be working on a hybrid basis, with 2-3 days in the office.
