  • What is the Apprenticeship Levy?

The Apprenticeship Levy is a levy on UK employers to fund the development of skills. The levy is only paid if your annual company payroll is in excess of £3 million per year, in which case 0.5% is deducted at source by HMRC as part of the PAYE process.

The funds in your Apprenticeship Levy account are available for you to spend on levy qualifying courses from an accredited provider, such as through the Davies Academy.

If you don’t spend your levy fund within two years – you lose it.

  • How do I claim costs back?

You would pay an element of our charge upfront with the balance (up to 75%) paid for via the Government’s ESFA digital platform which draws funds directly from your company’s levy pot. For more details, please schedule a consultation with one of our experts.

  • Can I access levy funding if my payroll is less than £3m per annum?

Yes, the levy is there to fund training for all employers. Those with a total annual payroll of less than £3 million pay just 5% of the cost of their apprenticeship training and the Government pays the rest. Schedule an individual consultation with us and learn how this works for you.

  • What time commitment is required to complete courses?

To access levy funding, your learners must commit to spending a percentage of their paid time learning. To understand how this works in practice, please schedule a consultation with one of our consultants.
